What is carbon fiber and why would you choose carbon fiber rims

Carbon Fibers (alternatively CF, graphite fiber) are fibers about 5–10 micrometers in diameter and composed of mostly carbon atoms.

Carbon fibers have several advantages including high stiffness, high tensile strength, low weight, high chemical resistance, high-temperature tolerance. These properties have made carbon fiber very popular in aerospace and sports. However, they are often times expensive when compared with similar fibers, such as glass fibers or plastic fibers. That's often why carbon fiber rims are more expensive than regular aluminum rims.

Two of the biggest features of carbon fiber are their excellent strength and light weight. The specific gravity of carbon fiber is about 1.8, and the proportion of one-quarter iron is 7.8. Carbon fibers are also much lighter than aluminum and glass fibers with a specific gravity of 2.7 and 2.5, respectively. In addition, the carbon fiber has excellent strength and elastic modulus: the specific strength calculated by dividing the tensile strength by the specific gravity is approximately 10 times the specific strength of iron, and the value calculated by dividing the specific gravity by the elongation modulus, the specific modulus of elasticity is about 10. It's seven times that of iron.
This is why carbon fiber is the favorite light material to replace traditional metal materials. This is why BTLOS choose carbon fiber materials.

Carbon fiber is most notably used to reinforce the composite material, and more as a reinforcing material added to the resin, metal, ceramic, concrete and other materials to form a composite material. Carbon fiber has become the most important reinforcing material for advanced composites.

Composites made of carbon fiber and resin become an advanced aerospace or sporting material due to their small specific gravity, high rigidity, and high strength.
Carbon fiber is barely any strength before being coated with resin and 3000 carbon filaments can be easily broken by hand. After being coated with resin carbon will become harder than iron, harder than steel.

Carbon fiber is also an environmentally friendly material.
This is why more and more people choose carbon fiber products.
